Schwarz Etienne, the Swiss Manufacture, has looked to the world of haute couture and conceived a watch imbued with elegance and refinement. The FIJI Floral Seconds "Serti Couture" encompasses an in-house movement, innovative modular case and an unusual animated floral seconds display. However, most of all, this new model features flawless seams where diamonds have seemingly been sewn into the case for the delectation of its wearer.

As the assembled press view catwalk models draped in the latest haute couture creations, their eyes are often drawn to the fabrics, the lines and the exquisite embellishments. However, beyond the onlooker's gaze is a multitude of peerless details which denote a garment as special.

Skilled artisans cut expensive fabrics with great care while the most accomplished and talented sewers carefully stitch fabric, honing the garment to its wearer's torso. Many details are barely visible and can only be seen by the wearer or those in close proximity. 'Haute couture', a term protected in law, is the ultimate expression of luxury and appreciated by those in the know.

Schwarz Etienne has looked to the world of haute couture for inspiration and conceived the FIJI Floral Seconds "Serti Couture". This is the company's first diamond-set watch and builds on the success of previous versions of the FIJI Floral Seconds. While the family likeness is clear, the "Serti Couture" is a new model in its own right. It is enriched with a myriad of details, yet remains elegantly understated.

Similar to a haute couture gown, the "Serti Couture" encompasses fine materials, curving lines and timeless design. The modular case is comprised of three elements: the bezel, the case middle and the case back, including the horns. Each of these independent elements can be adapted, granting Schwarz Etienne much creative freedom. In this instance, the case back and horns have been tastefully adorned with 67 diamonds. The gems have an ethereal quality as if they have been embroidered into the steel. Moreover, the positioning and scale of the diamonds shuns undue flamboyance, only making their presence known when the wearer rotates their wrist.

Schwarz Etienne is famed for its modular movement design. It has designed movements which allow one barrel to be exchanged for a micro-rotor or vice versa. The FIJI Floral Seconds "Serti Couture" upholds this philosophy. The calibre ASE 200 fitted to this model allows the company to add further complications in the future should it wish to do so. This movement incorporates one barrel, delivering an impressive 86 hours of autonomy. Beyond its functional qualities, the movement features three bridges, each embellished with guillochage. Furthermore, perlage adorns the base plate and the balance bridge features a sunray motif.

The FIJI Floral Seconds "Serti Couture" is endowed with an elegant dial, pairing a pure white canvas with sky blue pearlescent detail. The latter shade is employed on the animated floral seconds display, momentarily coming into view before disappearing from the wearer's gaze. Blue curvaceous hands collaborate with drop-shape indexes to impart the prevailing time. A crescent-shaped band of 48 diamonds sits adjacent the hour track. Just like a haute couture garment, this tasteful seam of diamonds remains discreet and is only apparent to those individuals in close proximity.

The "Serti Couture" is equipped with a new, larger crown designed to facilitate ease of manipulation. A diamond graces the vertical flank of the crown, adding a refined touch of glamour.

A choice of straps provides ladies with the opportunity to match their watch to their mood or outfit. Each "Serti Couture" model is supplied with two interchangeable straps. A light blue pearlescent strap is paired with a folding clasp, and a second strap is presented in electric blue leather with a pin buckle. One strap exhibits a classical character, while the other is more avant-garde and playful. Both straps feature a becoming satin technological lining. Mindful that women appreciate functionality, the "Serti Couture" is presented in a luxurious Noleti® handbag.

As the "Serti Couture" demonstrates, true luxury lies in the details, something any devotee of haute couture will appreciate.
