Recto-verso of the movement with the rotor and dial removed.

The rotor turns on a ball race with ceramic balls.

The upper automatic bridge removed, showing the pinion which drives the centre seconds wheel, the same system as would be found in a chronograph for driving the chronograph hand.

The reasons for the height of the case are the flush fitting sapphires (accumulating in 6mm of sapphire glasses) plus the mechanism for driving the two inner chapter rings combined with their inclined design.

Images of the calibre with the rotor removed. Based on a Valjoux 7750 but with alterations to the cam system for the mono-pusher and various alterations to the bridges and general aesthetic. The minute recorder indication is also moved to 3 o’clock instead of the conventional 12 o’clock position for a 7750.

Summary

The adaptation and re-manufacture of the Valjoux 7750 by Concepto into two new calibres for SuisseMecanica, plus the new design of contemporary cushion case result in an original product. SuisseMecanica is the cushion version equivalent, of the Richard Mille Torneau design. The functionality of the slider is solid and well engineered, the pushers are consequently well protected. The initial feeling, when handling and adjusting the watch, is that it is heavy, sharp and has its own defined personality. The watch is a clean, technical design, substantial in its volume and presence.

The theory below describes how the case has been designed.
