Bremont was founded in 2002 by Nick and Giles English. Today the company is based in Henley on Thames. The company goal is to manufacture watches producing the majority of components in England. Strategically, they began by producing personalized components in Switzerland and during their development have slowly transferred knowledge and manufacturing processes to the UK, whilst adapting processes and techniques parallel to their own engineering skillset.
The production of their cases was the first step in the manufacturing process, in-house. Today (2021) with support from their Swiss technical partners, the transition of movement manufacture to their own facility, 'The Wing' of their own caliber is in place.
THE NAME BREMONT
In the late 1990s, Nick & Giles English were flying across France in their 1930's biplane. An engine problem forced them to make an emergency landing. The brothers accepted the help of the farmer whose field they had landed in. They stayed in his home, the aircraft parked in a barn. The brothers promised that his hospitality would not be forgotten. The farmers name was Antoine Bremont.
